4. What to do if the account is forgotten?

For Administrator Accounts:

If the administrator account is forgotten, it cannot be directly recovered. The only solution is to reset the device to factory settings and re-activate the administrator account. Proceed with caution, as factory reset will erase all data and settings.

For Shared Accounts:

If a shared account is forgotten, the administrator can retrieve the account information by following these steps:

  1. Go to My > Device Management > Manage Shared Accounts.

  2. In the shared account list, locate and view the details of all shared accounts.

  3. If needed, the administrator can assist the shared user with account management or password reset.

  3. Click Register New Device, agree to the terms of service, and start searching for devices.

  4. Select the NAS device you want to connect to. (If multiple NAS devices are available, check the SN number at the bottom of the NAS device and select the corresponding device.)
